New information has become available regarding today’s events. We are in a position to confirm that the food poisoning was caused by bacteria E. coli. This is a more serious case than we had initially expected. If not properly handled, we can have many more people affected. We have contacted doctors at hospitals were our patients are being treated and they have confirmed that lab results indicate that this is indeed a case of E. coli. We have notified the authorities about this finding.

We are now trying to find out which product might have caused this E. coli outbreak. We have several teams working on determining the origin, but this information will probably not be available today. This is a time consuming process and we would not like to jump to conclusions. Please understand that it might take time to find the answers to some of your questions.

We will update you when more information becomes available.
